After Ram temple at Ayodhya, BJP leader Swamy announces Janaki shrine at Sitamarhi
‘A Ram temple will be built at Ayodhya and a Sita temple at Sitamarhi in north Bihar, the birth place of Lord Ram’s consort, as one cannot imagine Ram without Sita’, said Swamy, a Rajya Sabha MP.
The Virat Hindustan Sangam (VHS), a Hindutva outfit launched in 2015 by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, will construct a grand Janaki (Sita) temple at Sitamarhi in north Bihar, believed to be the birth place of Lord Ram’s consort.
This was announced by Swamy at a national seminar which had as its participants eminent scholars drawn from different parts of the country. It was organized by the Bihar Unit of VHS at the Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir auditorium, here on Sunday.
Swamy, a Rajya Sabha member and former minister, announced the VHS plan to construct the temple while speaking as chief guest at the convention. He also stressed the need to identify the importance of Hindu religious places in each district of Bihar to renovate them.
This would help create employment opportunities for the local residents, he said.
“It is essential to safeguard these locations as many of them are on the verge of extinction. It will be a great step to save the Indian tradition and Sanatan culture”, Swamy said, adding, it would be a great feat to restore the ancient value to the birth place of Goddess Janaki.
“A Ram temple will be built at Ayodhya and a Sita temple at Sitamarhi as one cannot imagine Ram without Sita. The temple will be the best in Asia and a university will be established there in her name to study ancient Indian thought and values,” he said.
Swamy said the proposed university will have provision for study of modern science along with teaching and training in all subjects, answering to international standards. It will function as international research centre for vedas.
He also spoke on the importance of Singheshwarasthan in Kosi region of the state as a pilgrimage centre.
During the function, VHS felicitated 19 persons who have contributed in different social sectors for the uplift of the mankind. Each of those honoured was given a citation.
