Arvind Kejriwal News highlights: ‘BJP wants to change Constitution, ensure no elections are held,’ says Delhi CM

BJP leader Tarun Chugh speaking on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwalsaid, “He has been released on interim bail but is celebrating. It’s shameful that someone who has come out of jail is raising slogans like ‘Inquilab Zindabad’.”

BJP MP and party's national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi attacks Kejriwal saying he has joined the “elite club” of jail return CMs.

He said, "Arvind Kejriwal has now been included in the elite club of 'jail return chief ministers'. In 1997, the then CM of Bihar, Lalu Yadav got the membership, Jayalalithaa of Tamil Nadu in 1996, K Karunanidhi of Tamil Nadu in 2000... The person who used to talk about sending Sheila Dikshit and Sonia Gandhi in jail, after returning from Tihar, his tone has changed..."

RJD leader Misa Bharti said, “Supreme Court has granted him interim bail. We shouldn’t comment on this much as the matter is still in the court. However, it will strengthen the INDIA alliance as he will campaign for the elections.”

BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi attacks Kejriwa on bail in press conference. He said, “Arvind Kejriwal has come out and is celebrating. Kejriwal has finally become a part of the ‘jail return club’ like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Jayalalithaa, and Shibhu Soren. One who used to say that they would send Sheila Dikshit and Sonia Gandhi to jail, are now a part of the INDI alliance because all of them are against Modi.”

Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj told ANI that Kejriwal was jailed in a false case.

"When Arvind Kejriwal was put behind bars in a false case, Sunita Kejriwal had said that she would come to here to the Hanuman Temple with Arvind Kejriwal...He got bail in 50 days in the PMLA court which is a miracle & can happen with the blessings of Hanuman ji...," He said.

A day after he was released on interim bail from Tihar Jail Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal offered prayers at the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place in the national capital

He was accompanied by wife Sunita Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Ahead of his visit, Kejriwal said he is happy to be back with the prayers of crores of people and justice of the Supreme Court.

"The way he was arrested without solid investigation, the way it was done to Hemant Soren ji and being done with others...We are happy that he has got bail, he will campaign also. Arvind Kejriwal News Live: A bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta dismissed the Enforcement Directorate's argument against granting interim bail to Kejriwal for election campaigning. The court disagreed with the ED's contention that such bail would set a precedent favoring politicians over citizens.

It emphasised that the circumstances of the individual and the surrounding context are crucial in bail decisions. 

The bench highlighted the significance of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections and noted that while serious accusations exist, Kejriwal remains unconvicted and poses no threat to society. Additionally, the legality of his arrest is still pending a final verdict from the Supreme Court.
