I spoke to the doctors and police. Two people have been arrested; the accused are from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The third accused is absconding,” Shinde said.

The 66-year-old politician who was killed on Saturday night, is set to have his funeral at Bada Kabrastan, near Marine Lines, Mumbai at 8:30 pm.
Before that at 7:30 pm, there will be a prayer session as well.
Chief minister Eknath Shinde has instructed officials to provide a state funeral with all honours to the former Maharashtra minister.

In his statement he said, “Baba Siddique had previously expressed concerns for his safety, indicating he felt his life was in danger. If a minister can be killed like this, it raises alarming questions about the safety of ordinary citizens in the state. There seems to be a larger conspiracy at play. An impartial investigation is necessary, and the culprits must be punished.”

Baba Siddique News Live: NCP leader and Maharashtra minister Chhagan Bhujbal slammed the police for not investigating death threats against Siddique while he was alive.
Speaking to news agency ANI, he said, “Police were aware of the threats and Y security was provided to him. The duty of the police is not limited to merely giving security but to investigating from where the threats are coming, and who are those giving these threats.”

Baba Siddique News Live: A total of 6 rounds of bullets were fired at Baba Siddique, out of which 3 bullets hit him, according to Mumbai police.
The doctors at Lilavati hospital, where he was declared dead, stated that there had been two gunshot wounds on his chest but until the post-mortem there could be no certainty of all his wounds.
Siddique was shot by three attackers outside his son's house on the night of Dussehra. The police also recovered a 9.9 mm gun which supposedly was used during the firing.

Baba Siddique News Live: The third accused in the murder of Baba Siddique has been identified and will be arrested soon, according to the Mumbai police.
Earlier today, the police identified the other two accused as Gurmail Singh (23) and Dharamraj Kashyap (19) who were from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh respectively.
They had allegedly planned the shooting in Mumbai for close to two months and had surveyed Siddique's house and office as well.

Addressing the press outside the hospital, he said, “I cannot believe the incident which occurred yesterday in Mumbai. The CM, Home Minister and I are monitoring the situation. Who gave the contract (for murder) and who is behind all this, I believe it will be known in 2-3 days.”

Baba Siddique death news live: A Mumbai police team has arrived at NCP leader Baba Siddique's residence at Maqba Heights, Bandra, following his murder on Saturday night.
The Mumbai police has currently arrested two individuals and is yet to apprehend the third, who was involved in killing the NCP leader in front of his son Zeeshan's office in Bandra.
A forensic team is currently looking into the crime scene and a post mortem examination of the body is being conducted at Cooper Hospital.
