1.56 crore voters are eligible to cast their ballots across 13,766 polling stations on February 5. Among them, 83.76 lakh are men, 72.36 lakh women, while 1,267 are third-gender voters, according to the EC.

220 companies of paramilitary forces, 19,000 home guards, and 35,626 Delhi police personnel will also be deployed to ensure safety and fair voting practices during the elections.

Votes are scheduled to be counted on February 8.

The Gandhi Nagar police station received a PCR call regarding the inking of a voter's finger.

"On inquiry, it was revealed that the person claiming that his finger had been inked was found to be a 40-year-old man namely Firoz Khan. He is a history-sheeter. He is a notorious criminal with 15 criminal cases against him," the Delhi Police said in a statement.

Khan was found to be drunk. Further, the probe revealed that his fingers were actually not inked. "He revealed that he was telling a fake story to gain media mileage in the times of elections. RO (Returning Officer) and FST (Flying Squad Team) have been duly intimated. Further probe underway," he added.

Delhi Election 2025 LIVE: Over 13,000 polling stations, facilities ensured at booths, says CEO

Delhi Chief Electoral Officer R Alice Vaz told news agency ANI that there are a total of 13,766 polling stations in 2,696 polling station premises in the national capital.

"As per the instruction of the Election Commission of India, we are committed to providing a memorable experience to our voters. We have instructed our district election officers to set up the polling station based on some themes and ensure that the arrangement of a model polling station, PWD-managed polling stations, women-managed polling stations and youth-managed polling stations," she added.

Vaz further said, "All the polling stations have been set up enthusiastically and many facilities are being provided... Polling stations have been provided with a waiting hall and the colour-coded identification for each polling station within the premises and, ramps and toilet facilities."
