Man of the day, Yogi Adityraj, who has become the UP Chief Minister to retain power in 27 years, said, “Amid the fervour, we have to stay focused. When we were fighting COVID, they (Opposition) were conspiring against us. By making us win people have once again voted for nationalism, good governance. It's our responsibility to continue working on these issues.”

"The people of UP, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur have showered Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with great affection. My gratitude to the people of these states. Our Party cherishes these blessings and will keep working for the development of these states,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi comented.

Rahul Gandhi 'humbly accepted' the people’s verdict, tweeting, “Humbly accept the people’s verdict. Best wishes to those who have won the mandate. My gratitude to all Congress workers and volunteers for their hard work and dedication. We will learn from this and keep working for the interests of the people of India.”

“BJP's win is a victory of their election management too,” said Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut.

As AAP sounded the victory bugle in Punjab its leaders termed their win as a big revolution in the state.

"Punjab will not be known as 'Udta Punjab' (flying Punjab) from now onwards, but 'Uthta Punjab' (Growing Punjab)…Throne of people who ruled Punjab for decades is shaking. In future, Arvind Kejriwal will be BJP's principal challenger, AAP will be Congress' replacement," AAP Punjab co-in charge Raghav Chadha stated.

"The voice of the people is the voice of God …. Humbly accept the mandate of the people of Punjab. Congratulations to Aap !!!," tweeted Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Meanwhile, Congress leadership blamed Amarinder's reign as the reason behind their loss.

"In Punjab, Congres presented a new leadership through Charanjit Singh Channi who is the son of the soil, but the entire anti-incumbency of 4.5 years under Captain Amarinder Singh could not be overcome and hence people voted for AAP for change," Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala stated.

Embarrassed by its loss in Uttarakhand its state chief Harish Rawat accepted, “There must have been a gap in our efforts. I accept it and take responsibility for the defeat.” But wondered, "I cannot understand that after such massive inflation if this was the public's mandate, what is the definition of public welfare and social justice?... I cannot understand people saying 'BJP zindabad’ after this.”

After winning his seat with a close margin and winning the state with a huge gap Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he tweeted, “the people of Goa once again called on the Prime Minister. He gave an undisputed vote to the leadership of Narendra Modiji. The people of this country are only and only Narendra is with Modi. This is the acknowledgment given by the people of Goa to development and public service.”

In Manipur, after returning to power, N Biren said, “We'll take time to stake a claim to form govt, let the results be out. Our national leaders will decide on CM face, we'll focus on PM Modi's mantra of inclusive development.”
