Jat body to decide on which party to support on May 6
AIJASS national leader Yashpal Malik said the main work of leaders will be to expose the BJP in the state.
The All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) will be holding a meeting on May 6 at Rohtak’s Jasia village to decide which political party to support in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Haryana.
The meeting will be addressed by AIJASS national leader Yashpal Malik, its state spokesperson Rambhagat Malik said on Tuesday. “We have formed a two-member team in every village, whose primary aim will be to ascertain which party will the people (of our community) supporting. We are in the process of creating a detailed report. In the meeting on May 6, we will decide our future course of action with the final data,” he added.
Malik said the main work of leaders will be to expose the BJP in the state and the AIJASS will extend its support to any such party which promises Jats reservation in government jobs and cancellation of FIRs registered against the “innocent” people in the 2016 reservation stir. He said there is a large section of Jat voters and “they know what the BJP government did to them”.
Earlier, AIJASS national president Yashpal Malik had also alleged that few BJP leaders were behind the violence that took place during the pro-quota stir in February 2016 and a youth squad constituted by incumbent Kurukshetra MP Rajkumar Saini first attacked the Jat youths, which led to tension.
