“As far as criticising the government is concerned, he (Rahul Gandhi) is the LoP. People have high expectations from him, especially in Parliament. Outside the Parliament too, Rahul Gandhi has emerged as a national youth icon, which is unprecedented. Today, the points he raised in Parliament were expressed with a lot of aggression, but he did not target anyone specifically,” said TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha.

“Read Article 26, it gives religious denomination, the right to establish and maintain institution for religious and charitable purposes. The Prime Minister says that Waqf has nothing to do with Constitution. Who is teaching the PM? Make him read Article 26. The goal is to snatch away Waqf properties...You want to snatch it away on the basis of your strength,” said Asaduddin Owaisi.

AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi raised mob lynching crimes under the garb of cow smuggling and listed out the name of victims of such crimes.

“Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and tall leaders of that time were part of the Constituent Assembly. All of them signed the draft prepared by Ambedkar sahab. It was implemented. In all the years that the Congress governed this country, the words (of Constituency) were implememnted. We are proud that we attained freedom for the country, and we did not come back by tendering apology,” said Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa.

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi claimed that the word “Adani” has been deleted from her maiden speech in the Lok Sabha.

“BJP does not want to talk about the real issues. The word 'Adani' has been expunged from my speech. Why so? Is it an unparliamentary word? They can name anyone, but we cannot name Adani?,” she asked.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur, in his counter to Rahul Gandhi's attacks, claimed that opposition MPs was clueless on even the number of pages in the Constitution.

He also cited senior Supreme Court lawyer Gopal Shankar Narayan to counter Gandhi's claims. “If you read carefully, he has written that thankfully the Constitution that was made at that time was not influenced by Nehruvian thinking. Secondly, he has further written that if this Constitution did not have the power, then the common citizens of India would not have got freedom from the dark chapter of Emergency and would not have got their rights,” Thakur said.

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that his grandmother Indira Gandhi had told him that VD Savarkar asked for “forgiveness” from the British and “compromised” with them.

Congress MP KC Venugopal raised repeated disruptions from the treasury benches during Rahul Gandhi's speech.

He also urged Speaker Om Birla to prevent the house from functioning partisanally and give equal space to MPs from the opposition.

“Time and time again, the LOP is denied an opportunity to speak when he is being targeted. Parliamentary convention is in serious danger if the rules of the House are bent to favour the treasury benches alone,” he said in a post on X.

Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde attacked Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's claims and said the recent victory of the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra assembly election is due to the strength of the Constitution.

He also alleged that the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has been unable to come up with a leader of the opposition in Maharashtra.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur responded to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's speech on the Constitution in the Lok Sabha and attacked the Congress party over its role in the imposition of Emergency in 1975.

“In my last few speeches, I spoke about the concept of 'Abhaya Mudra', the concept of fearlessness, truth and non-violence, and I showed the House images of our different religions, displaying 'Abhaya Mudra'. People call the Constitution the longest written Constitution in the world, but the Constitution contains a set of ideas from one philosophy of our nation, one central philosophical set of ideas of our nation,” Rahul Gandhi said.

Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Uttar Pradesh government had not kept its promise to relocate the family of victim in Hathras rape case.

“I went to Hathras gangrape victim's house, those who committed the crime roaming free, while her family cannot venture out,” Gandhi said.

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP over farmers protest amid their standoff with the police in Haryana-Punjab Shambhu border.

“Farmers are demanding fair price, but you are benefiting Adani,” Gandhi said

Rahul Gandhi cited the story of Eklavya to attack the BJP during his speech in the Lok Sabha.

“Just like Dronacharya cut Eklavya's thumbs, the BJP is chopping off thumbs of youths in India,” Gandhi said.

“When BJP gives Dharavi to Adani, you are chopping off thumbs of small businessmen,” he added.

"The worst thing about the Constitution of India is that there is nothing Indian about it. Manusmriti is that scripture which is most worshippable after Vedas for our Hindu nation and from which our ancient times have become the basis for our culture, customs, thought and practice. This book, for centuries, has codified the spiritual and divine march of our nation. Today, Manusmiriti is law." These are the words of Savarkar," Rahul Gandhi said.

Rahul Gandhi cited Sanskrit text “Manu Smriti” to attack VD Savarkar over his views on India's Constitution.

“Savarkar clearly stated in his writings there is nothing Indian about our constitution,” Gandhi said.

“When you (BJP) speak of protecting Constitution, you are ridiculing Savarkar,” he added.

Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi described India's Constitution as the document of “Mother India”.

“Constitution a document of modern India but it could never have been written without ancient India, her ideas,” he said.

It is yet another attempt by the government to take away the federal structure. Having two or three state elections is very good for democracy as it gives the people an opportunity to either endorse or negate the political parties.”

Further, Chandoliya urges the opposition to stay “patient” and listen to the PM's addresses, and accuses it of creating a “narrative.”
