‘Modi-ji zindabad’, says evacuee from war-hit Sudan after landing in Delhi | Video
The evacuation was done under India's ‘Operation Kaveri’ to bring back all the stranded Indian nationals in Sudan.
India has been ramping up its efforts to evacuate Indian nationals stuck in cities and border points of war-torn Sudan. Another batch of 362 Indian evacuees, who boarded a flight from Jeddah, landed in New Delhi on Friday. After arriving to safety, one of the evacuees while explaining how their evacuation took place lauded the "smooth" efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led dispensation, and chanted slogans like 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', 'PM Narendra Modi Zindabad".
“I thank the government for bringing us back to the country. The situation is really bad there (in Sudan),” Balram said.
The evacuation was done under India's ‘Operation Kaveri’ to bring back all the stranded Indian nationals in Sudan. A total of 362 Indian evacuees from Sudan took a flight for Bengaluru from Jeddah in the presence of minister of state for external affairs V Muraleedharan.

Earlier, the tenth batch of 326 Indian evacuees from Sudan reached Jeddah by INS Tarkash. According to the website of the Indian embassy in Khartoum, there were around 2,800 Indian nationals in Sudan. Along with this, there was also a settled Indian community of around 1,200 people - which has been in the country for nearly 150 years.
The armed forces are working tirelessly to evacuate all the Indian citizens from the conflict-ridden region.
Fighting has erupted between soldiers loyal to Sudanese army leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his deputy, paramilitary Rapid Support Soldiers (RSF) commander Mohamed Hamdan Daglo.
