Telangana Exit Poll Results 2023 Highlights: BRS-Congress may go neck-and-neck, BJP lags behind, say early predictions

If the election exit poll predictions are accurate, then the Congress party can have a historic comeback in Telangana, after it had won only 15 out of the total 119 seats in the state.

Despite extensive campaigning and a massive roadshow by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP is once again predicted to lose the elections in Telangana by a landslide, with just 7 seats expected.

The Election Commission cracked its whip on several occasions to ensure a level playing field for all parties in the five states where assembly polls were held even as authorities seized freebies, drugs, cash and liquor worth over ₹2,000 crore aimed at alluring voters. (PTI)

While Telangana polls can tilt either way for Congress and BRS, it predicted that INC will retain its seat in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, BJP will win in Madhya Pradesh and regional parties MNF and ZPM will have a close battle in Mizoram.

According to majority of the exit poll predictions, Congress is expected to have an edge over BRS in Telangana, ending the nine year reign of K Chandrashekar Rao's government in the state.

According to multiple predictions by news agencies, BRS is likely to lose its reign in Telangana and Congress is predicted to win the elections with over 60 seats.

According to the India Today-CNX exit poll, BRS will retain power with 70 seats in Telangana, with Congress being a close second. Meanwhile, BJP and AIMIM are predicted to get 7 seats each.

Polling concluded peacefully in the 13 assembly segments affected by Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in Telangana at 4 PM on Thursday, officials said, adding that 51.89 per cent votes were cast by 3 PM in the total 119 constituencies in the state. (PTI)

As election results are near, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has expressed confidence that BJP will “lose all five states” while Congress will maintain its stronghold.

Telangana, on November 30, recorded 51.89 per cent voter turnout till 3 pm. The voting will take place till 5 pm, the exit poll results will be released shortly after.
