Brij Bhushan's remarks came hours after he released a defiant statement, declaring he will 'embrace death the day I feel helpless… (and) no longer have strength to fight'.

“Friends, the day I introspect on what I gained or lost, and feel that I no longer have the strength to fight; the day I feel helpless, I would wish death as I won't be living a life like that. Instead of living such a life, I would wish that death takes me in its embrace,” Bhushan said in the video.

Meanwhile, the protesting wrestlers said they will continue their protest against Brij Bhushan even as an FIR is being filed against him, adding that the FIR is the first step towards the "victory". The protesters have vowed to spend nights at Jantar Mantar camping there until action is taken against him.

In the last five days, five lakh has been spent on the makeshift arrangement including mattresses, bed sheets, fans, speakers, microphones, power gen-set, water, food etc.

Support has also come from other fields, including Bollywood and other athletes.
