The author, who's now decided to maintain silence over 3 Idiots credit controversy, is upset over the conspiracy theory that this whole conflict has been cooked up by himself, Aamir and the filmmakers. He speaks to Hindustan Times.com on why he went into his shell and more.
Wary of being misunderstood Bhagat feels he's said enough on the issue and keeping silent is the call of the hour. "I'm off media right now. Beyond a point, it sounds like cribbing. So I'd rather not say anything. (Pauses). Both sides have gone into a lull. And that's what I think we need right now. I don't want to be quoted out of context."
Role of media The author feels that press played a positive role in the controversy. "Media has in fact helped the matter."
Need for valid contracts On being asked about plagiarism and copyright infringement in Bollywood, the author said that this incident will work as a precedent and from now on Bollywood films will have valid contracts."
Reality or gimmick? Filmmaker Pritish Nandy's tweet has infuriated the author. This is what he tweeted - "Given Aamir's penchant for unusual promotional strategies is it possible the fight with Chetan Bhagat is to pump up sales of both FPS n 3i?" An upset Bhagat responds, "It's a serious charge. How can they say things like that?"
Blog truth The author says that his blog has all the details about this controversy. "Please go and read my latest blog, it has everything."
