Abhi-Ash reach second milestone
As Aishwarya and Abhishek step into their second year of matrimony, we heartily wish the couple a happy marriage anniversary. Parmita Uniyal takes you through their two years of togetherness.
Unlike the classic love stories, Aishwarya-Abhishek tale didn't take off on a romantic note. In fact it was a deep bond of friendship that stood the test of time to transform into love. And the chemistry is for all to see.
It seems to be a beautiful journey so far, as the couple celebrate their 2nd marriage anniversary on April 20.
Who would have guessed that they'd utter Dhai Akshar Prem Ke to each other one day, when they first worked together for the movie by the same name in 2000. At that time Abhishek was engaged to Karisma Kapoor, while Ash was dating Salman Khan.
Intermittently both were rumoured to be dating. While Ash was linked up with Viveik Oberoi, Abhishek's name appeared in tabloids next to that of Dipannita Sharma and Rani Mukherjee. None of these affairs could last. It's obvious that life had other plans for uniting the two 'A's together.
Their friendship grew more and more as the shooting of Kuch Na Kaho progressed. Ash at that time was struggling with the violent ways of Salman and she found a much-needed support in Abhishek.
But it was only during the shooting of Umrao Jaan, that the couple realised the potential of turning this relationship into an everlasting bond. It was now Ash's turn to support Abhishek during Amitabh's illness.
Finally, at the premiere of their film Guru, Abhishek proposed to his special friend and she said, "I do."
Their screen journey merged so beautifully with their real-life journey that the affair though ordinary seemed magical.
