“It will be hard to live without the title but everything in life is not forever. I am happy to have been Miss India World,” she says. But she’s not happy with the way models are treated “by society”, she says, adding, “Take the Jessica Lal murder case. Models need proper security whenever there are shows and parties. Models are most susceptible to attacks by miscreants.”

Known for her dusky looks and height, Sindhura loves  singing, dancing (jazz, Latin, ballroom & Indian classical), reading, movies and cooking. Her motto in life is ‘Work hard, play harder! Don’t just exist… Live!’.

“I moved to Lokhandwala in Mumbai recently and now, am doing everything on my own including the cooking. I want to be independent and responsible,” she says.

Sindhura has also been signed up for a Hollywood documentary Adams Irish Mom LA the shooting for which, will begin in June.  In India, she has some offers for Telugu films but none for Hindi films.

“Maybe, I don’t have the typical Indian look and am more like a stuntwoman,” she laughs, adding, “I like adventure, action, snow boarding, beach volleyball, sky diving, scuba diving, netball, basketball & badminton. So it would take some time for Hindi film producers to accept my looks and persona.”

Talking about her first crush she says, “It was my geography teacher when I was a student of Class VII in Auckland. His name was Donald. When I won the Miss India-World title, I went back to the same school to meet the children there then I told him about the crush. He just laughed away.”

And, the  love of her life? “Oh! I have known him for the last five years and he will be coming to India after two days. He is not Indian but surely, he’s my mate,” says Sindhura.

Sindhura was born in Vijayawada, grew up with her grandparents
there and then, joined her parents who were working abroad. She finished her schooling in New Zealand where she began her career as a newscaster and anchor in the media and fashion industry.

Talking about her future Sindhura says, “I have shifted to Mumbai to complete my degree in Pharmacology & Physiology, a comprehensive First Aid Course and a diploma in advanced modelling. My ambition is two-fold—to enter into pharmaceutical research and explore the media and fashion industry around the globe. Besides, I have also taken an introduction course in Chinese, Japanese & Arabic.”
