The prisoners have penned down their plight in a letter that was delivered to Rajya Sabha member Avinash Rai Khanna by Jammu resident Vinod Sahni, who was recently released from the Lahore jail that hogged media limelight after Indian death convict Sarabjit Singh was killed in an attack by fellow prisoners in May this year.

"We want to be freed of all pains and get rid of this hellish life,” the letter reads.

The prisoners---Kirpal Singh, Kuldip Singh, Dharam Singh, Mohammed Farid, Tilak Raj, Maqbool Lone, Abdul Majid, Shambhu Nath, Surja Ram, Mohinder Singh and Punwasi---have appealed to the Indian government to allow the Pakistan government to shoot them dead.

Addressing their plea to Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Delhi governments and the media, the prisoners have said, "We have realised that we are paying for the crime of working with patriotic zeal.

It seems the Indian government is working on a policy to let its citizens die in a foreign land.”
