Having specialised as a social and political worker, before election into the 9th Lok Sabha, Jayawanti Mehta, has played an active part in social movements against atrocities on women, anti-price rise agitation, health and educational services and civil amenities to maintain law and order.
Born on the 20 December 1938 to Shri Dwarkadas Venidas Kapadia and Smt.Vijaya Dwarkadas Kapadia, Jayawanti was brought up in Aurangabad (Maharashtra). She continued her studies at Sharda Mandir, Aurangabad (Maharashtra) where she qualified with HSC, Hindi Sahitya-Visharad, Prayag.
She married Shri Navinchandra Tulsidas Mehta on 30 December 1958 with whom she has one son and daughter. Jaywanti went on to specialise as a social and political worker, before being elected into the 9th Lok Sabha.
She plays an active part in social movements against atrocities on women, anti-price rise agitation, health and educational services and civil amenities to maintain law and order. Candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the South Mumbai (Maharashtra) constituency.
