The creative brain behind 'Monapali' designer label are Pali Sachdeva and Mona Lamba. The designer duo Pali Sachdev and Mona Lamba, primarily focus on trousseau collection. Says Pali, "A bride is special to us and we want to treat her that way only. Monapali trousseau carries the mood through either Lehenga shlokas embroidered on them or the swastika inspired series or even the use of reverent colors of orange and red together to endorse the classic of Ganga Jamuna.
"We had so many young brides traveling all the way to Calcutta for our bridal-wear that we decided to bring our designs closer home to Delhi’s blushing brides," informs Mona Lamba flagging off her by appointment bridal room that graciously blends into the existing show-room. Formerly featuring a select range of formal and semi formal ensembles the boutique at 30, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi now has a complete range of bridal ensembles for the bride to choose from.
Specialist in the genre of hand-crafted heritage ensembles, Monapali see brides by appointment only. The bid being to offer her a fully co-ordinated look. "We ask the bride to bring along her jewellery and her shoes. We consult her on how she should carry off her hair style, her make and the whole look. "Often an ensemble takes over three months to hand-craft. Meanwhile we become part and parcel of the actual planning of the wedding. Let's face it the wedding costume is the most important element of the wedding and we feel privileged to craft it for the bride."
