No drawing-room politics for this Wharton graduate. "Unless you connect with the grassroots, there's no point being there. If politics is dirty, the only way to change it is to get into it," says the 26-year-old who joined his late father, Rajesh Pilot's party two years ago. Why did this MNC executive chuck up his job to join politics? Debt of gratitude towards his father's constituency? "No. I felt my talents would be better utilised in politics," he says.
Late Congress leader Rajesh Pilot and MP Rama Pilot's son Sachin is contesting the upcoming parliamentary election from Dausa parliamentary constituency in Rajasthan. This seat was earlier represented by his his late father Rajesh Pilot and after his death in a car accident by Rama Pilot.
Sachin, a promising business graduate who married into another political family (National Conference leader Omar Abdullah' sister), does not see anything wrong in inducting children who are able.
He is dynamic and smart. Keeps a fine balance between urban and rural base. He is being promoted as a young leader who has strong connections with farmers. He is political suave and keeps a low profile.
