Speaker Z Lohe
The present Speaker Z Lohe is the son of Zaneyi Lohe of Sakraba Village in Phek District. He was born on October 9, 1953.
Z Lohe, son of Zaneyi Lohe of Sakraba Villave, Phek District born on October 9, 1953. A member of the Chakhesang Naga tribe, Lohe had his early education from Government Middle School 1959 to 1970 and the Government High School Pfutsero. He graduated with Honours in Political Science from St. Edmunds' College Shillong and completed his post graduation (MA) from NEHU, Shillong, during 1980-82.

Lohe, was an active student leader and was president of the Post-Graduate, Students' Union, NEHU, Shillong, 1980-81 and later went on to become the president of Naga Students' Federation in 1981-82.
He was elected as Independent Member to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 17- Chizami Assembly Constituency in the 5th General Elections held in November 1982. Subsequently joined NNDP and then joined Indian National Congress (I) in 1985. He served as Chairman, NIDC in 1986 and was appointed as a cabinet minister incharge of Agriculture in November, 1986. He was re-elected from the same constituency on a Indian National Congress (I) ticket in 1987 and appointed Cabinet Minister in-charge of Power Department.
However, Lohe lost the 1989 assembly elections. He was re-elected in the subsequent elections and served as the Chairman MARCOFED and later appointed as the Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister. He was elected as Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly on March 23, 1998.
He was Elected Chairman to the North - East Regional Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (NER CPA)At Guwahati on February 24, 1998 and had attended 44th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference held in Wellington, New Zealand in October 1998.
