Thanks to the high-profile IPO boom, India?s billionaires are getting much richer. So who are the richest of them all? HT pored over some annual reports and stock market data to get down to the bottomline. LN Mittal, according to the latest London Sunday Times rich list, has an estimated wealth of #14.8 billion (Rs 123,565 crore), making him numero uno. Kushal Pal Singh, owner of DLF Universal, which going into IPO mode, may emerge number two by the time his listing is completed.

Thanks to the high-profile IPO boom, India’s billionaires are getting much richer. So who are the richest of them all? HT pored over some annual reports and stock market data to get down to the bottomline.

LN Mittal, according to the latest London Sunday Times rich list, has an estimated wealth of £14.8 billion (Rs 123,565 crore), making him numero uno. Kushal Pal Singh, owner of DLF Universal, which going into IPO mode, may emerge number two by the time his listing is completed. His red-herring prospectus has valued the company at $22 billion. Since his holding is close to 90 per cent, his personal wealth would be about Rs 100,000 crore.

Third: Azim Premji of Wipro, with Rs 63,160 crore. Fourth: Mukesh Ambani, who has completed another celebrated listing of Reliance Petroleum on Friday’s closing prices, with a total wealth of Rs 58,609 crore. Fifth: brother Anil Ambani with Rs 55,826 crore.

Sixth: Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla is up next has Rs 35,524 crore. Seventh: Tulsi Tanti, who completed a gangbuster listing of Suzlon Energy last year, with a personal wealth of Rs 26,549 crore.

Eighth: Bharti’s Sunil Mittal, with a  personal wealth of Rs 23,598 crore. Ninth: Mayfair-resident Anil Agarwal, owner of Vedanta, Sterlite, Balco and Hindustan Zinc. The Sunday Times rich-list pegs his fortune at £1.68 billion (Rs 14,026 crore). Bringing up the rear is Bajaj Auto chairman Rahul Bajaj at Rs 9,528 crore and media czar Kalanithi Maran at Rs 9,000 crore.
