Significantly, unlike their first press conference a week ago in Lucknow the three did not hail UPA as the next government or Manmohan Singh as the next prime minister. Some warm-up speakers even hailed Mulayam Singh Yadav as the next prime minister.

Mulayam, Lalu and Paswan are chiefs of Samajwadi Party (SP), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) respectively.

Both Amar Singh and Sanjay Dutt, the national general secretaries of the Samajwadi Party were conspicuously missing from the first biggest campaign by the party for the Lok Sabha elections. Amar Singh is seemingly upset with some internal party affairs for past two weeks. However, the two according to reports reaching here had reached the next rally at Bareilly.

Saifai rally was the first among the four rallies by the troika on Thursday in Uttar Pradesh for garnering support for Samajwadi Party candidates. The other three were scheduled in Bareilly, Gorakhpur and Varanasi.

Lalu Prasad Yadav said that now none one would ever be able to bring in any rift between them and they will always be together in Assembly elections too.

Mulayam Singh Yadav said that the three have not united to grab political power. They came together to fight for the issues of farmers, agriculture, irrigation, poor, unemployed and women.

Paswan said that differences and distances between the three leaders was a factor that all three could not perform well in last Assembly elections in their respective states. He also said that now no power could stop Mulayam Singh Yadav surging ahead in national politics.
