The company has been directed to hand over the plot located inside Parsvanath City, in Manglia, within three months. The realtor has also been directed to pay 8% annual interest to the petitioner on the Rs 12.34 lakh he had paid to get plot.

The petitioner, Rameshbhai Patel, a businessman and resident of New Palasia, had moved the forum in December 2012 stating that he had paid `12.34 lakh to purchase a plot in the Parsvanath City as per an agreement inked in February 2008. However, the plot was not allocated to him despite complete payment.

The petitioner also accused the Parsvanath Developers of cheating, as the plot where the township was set to come up was an agricultural land and had no approach road.

“The respondent (Parsvanath Developers Ltd) has done a disservice to the petitioner by not allocating him the plot within 24 month as mentioned in the agreement. The respondent should pay Rs 5,000 for causing mental stress to petitioner and bear Rs 2,000 petition cost,” forum chairperson, Bhagwati Choudhary, members Saroj Jain and Kundan Singh Chouhan, said in order delivered on January 4. A copy of the directive was received on Friday.

Parsvanath Developers Ltd told the forum that it had to stop work on the township for three years following complaints against the company. The work resumed after receiving clearance from competent authorities in 2010, the realtor’s counsel said.

The company, however, told HT that it would comply with the forum’s order and allot plot to the petitioner within a month.
