Myuhit Ali, 29, along with his partner Tania Gupta, has made the four-minute-long movie, ‘Doon Ke Na Doon’, which is inspired by the true story of acid attack victim Monica Singh.

The short film not only explores the psyche of an attacker but also introduces viewers with the life of a girl who is attacked, and how her life changes after the attack.

“We make a lot of advertisements for commercial products, but this is for the first time that we have explored a topic which is largely not explored by filmmakers,” said Ali.

He said the film aimed to create awareness about the issue and put an end to the sale of acid in the country. So far, he is satisfied with the response it has received.

“We have about 18,000 hits on YouTube, besides a significant number of shares on our Facebook and Twitter page. On Thursday, the movie was also shared by the United Nations on their Twitter page with an appeal to end acid attacks. We have been able to generate quite an attention online,” he said.

While the short film has been written, directed and edited by Myuhit Ali and Tania Gupta, it has produced jointly by Make Love Not Scars and Mahendra Singh Foundation, which works with acid attack victims and is run by Monica Singh.
