In a conversation with HT Lifestyle, Medha Singh, Aesthetician, Cosmetologist and CEO of Juvena Herbals Pvt. Ltd., says, " The basic understanding behind increased dark circles is as you start ageing, the skin under the eyes starts losing fat and collagen, causing the bluish blood vessels to start appearing. There are easy ways by which you can ensure proper collagen synthesis, it is recommended to massage your eyes and apply argon oil every night without a fail, along with a brightening mask that can be applied once or twice a week under the eyes, lastly not forget that proper sleep is always necessary not just to reduce dark circles but for an overall healthy day and mind. Many other reasons such as, not sleeping on time, not getting an appropriate amount of sleep, watching electronics for longer durations, rubbing your eyes, not washing the eyes properly, etc. also cause increased dark circles."
She further added, “It should also be noted very closely, that curing dark circles do not only restrain the eye area, the focus should be drawn on the whole face and neck because the muscles of the face are all connected, hence, stimulating proper blood flow in one area can help many different areas of the face. The diet that we consume also has an immediate effect on our external appearance, it is always suggested to have a proper and balanced diet with all the nutrients which are required by the body for functions, along with diet, it is also important to concentrate on the mental health because many problems inside and outside the body are solely caused by stress and frustration.”
"The easy steps to get flawless skin should be followed, anjeer and aloe vera packs should be applied under and over the eyes daily for fifteen minutes after cleansing, after which serum should be sprayed and lavender camphor moisturiser should be applied. If such a regimen is followed, it would cure dark circles and avoid their development in the future," concludes Medha.
