Ramadan 2023: This year, Ramadan in India is expected to begin on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Find out when you can spot the crescent moon and iftar timings.

Ramadan - also known as Ramzan, Ramazan or Ramzaan - is the holiest month in Islam. It is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is celebrated by Muslims with much pomp and grandeur. During this period, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, and evil thoughts and action from dawn until sunset. Additionally, followers of Islam keep a fast between dawn and sunset, pray for peace and guidance, give back to the community in the form of charity, and engage in humanitarian activities. The fast is then broken with family and friends coming together and eating a meal called Iftar.
