Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav and general secretary Amar Singh met the Governor BL Joshi here on Sunday and gave him a compact disk that contains “incriminating evidences” against Mayawati government and its two top officers. They requested the Governor to recommend probe against the two officers and suspend them till the probe was complete.
“The CD contains an telephonic conversation between Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Sunil Singh, the State cabinet secretary Shashak Shekhar Singh and the principal secretary to the chief minister, Shailesh Krishna wherein the two ‘voices’ can be heard pressuring Sunil Singh to sell off portion of land of his 8, Mall Avenue residence for merger into Ms Mayawati’s Mall Avenue residence. You all can listen to the conversation,” said Amar Singh at a press conference held after the handing over memorandum to the Governor. The CD was played to the newspersons.
When contacted for comment, one of the two officers, Shailesh Krishna said: “I would not comment on the issue because the matter is sub judice in the court.”
Sunil Singh too was present at the press conference and said that the conversation on the CD is authentic and has been submitted to the court already.
Sunil Singh said that five bunglows at the Mall Avenue have already been merged with the 13 Mall Avenue residence of Ms Mayawati, but his bunglow was not a government property. “It is my family’s property when they had purchased with their toil. Before this Chaudhary Charan Singh had lived in it for 14 years and Mulayam Singh Yadav for two years. But now the officers were pressuring me to sell part of the land to increase the area of 13 Mall Avenue which already has gone up from about 40,000 sq feet to 1.20 lakh square feet,” said Sunil Singh. He said that his family does not want to give away any parts of the land.
The memorandum to the Governor also points out how state government has appointed the chief minister’s relatives at the Greater Noida Authority flouting all rules and regulations and how irregularities were committed in allotment of a land to one Aakriti Hotel and then the hotel owners gifted the land of one of the relatives of the chief minister.
Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh told the Governor how the state of affairs in the state had been deteriorating with each passing day and there was complete breakdown of constitutional machinery.
