“Over 20 lakh unemployed youth will get jobs in the next three years,” he said.

“The Prime Minister and the President of India will be joined by hundreds of investors in the summit. Our entire team is working round-the-clock to make the event a success. At least 20 lakh youths will be directly linked to the ‘one district, one product’ scheme to help them stand on their feet,” Yogi said.

He added special attention was being given to MSMEs. “For Gorakhpur, terracotta products will be included under the scheme. Plans are afoot to work on city’s handloom products and brass utensils,” the CM said.

“After the investors’ summit, our government will organise a global summit in which businessmen and industrialists from India as well as abroad will be invited to invest in UP,” Yogi added.

Evading a query on the BJP candidate for Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat which is going to poll on March 11, Yogi said: “I have a direct connection with everyone in Gorakhpur. I have been visiting here for development. The party has given me the responsibility to take the reins of state after which the ambit of my work has increased. The seat cannot remain vacant. Somebody has to come here.”

He said the government was trying to set up an ethanol factory in Gorakhpur at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore. “Efforts are on to give a push to tourism industry in Gorakhpur,” he said.

The CM said the BJP was getting tremendous support in election-bound Tripura and claimed the lotus would bloom there. “Whenever a government starts discriminating, corruption takes place. In Tripura, the benefit of government-run schemes reaches only to CPM workers. The people want change. An amount of Rs 1,500 crore was given to Tripura under the MNREG schemes but it did not reach the poor,” he said.
