Shinde had to collect information on helmetless drivers at the petrol pump. The minor, who came on a bike, got into an argument with the policeman.

The minor then called up his 19 year old brother, after which the duo assaulted the policeman with a wooden stick. The minor’s brother, identified as Ahmed Mohammad Ali Qureshi, is on the run, informed senior police inspector Ramchandra Jadhav of Khar police station.

Both brothers are residents of a chawl in SV road. The minor was traced late on Tuesday and has been sent to correction home in Dongri. His elder brother is being traced. Both of them have been booked for attempt to murder under section 307 of the Indian Penal Code.
