Mumbai businessman chases thieves on foot, in rickshaw, recovers his bag with ₹5 lakh
Two robbers distracted the businessman in a car at a traffic signal and stole his bag containing the money.
A 50-year-old businessman with the help of local police chased and nabbed one of the two thak thak gang members, who stole a bag containing Rs5 lakh from his car at a traffic signal in Borivli (West) on Thursday morning.

According to Borivli police, the incident took place around 11.25am on the RM Bhattad road near Mc Donald’s restaurant.
The complainant Kiran Makwana was in his car, when two members of the thak thak gang knocked on his window.
They engaged him in a conversation saying he had hit a motorcycle and as he lowered his car’s window, one of the accused snatched the bag kept in his car and they ran off.
The duo got into a rickshaw with the bag, which contained Rs5 lakh cash.
Makwana got off his car and started chasing them in another autorickshaw.
A Borivli police constable Devidas Rasal, 45, and ASI Matekar, 56, both beat marshals were in the vicinity. When they were notified about the incident, they started chasing the accused.
Makwana managed to catch the rickshaw and caught hold of the two.
While one of them managed to escape, Makwana caught the other.
“In the meantime Rasal and Matekar rushed to the spot and nabbed the accused. The money was recovered from him,” said senior police inspector Gunaji Sawant of Borivli police station.
The accused Yasin Dhobi, 27, is from Uttar Pradesh and had come to Mumbai for committing the crime, a police official said.
