Senior citizen killed after biker knocks her down in Mumbai

A 65-year-old woman died on Friday afternoon after she was run over by a speeding bike in Charkop in Kandivli (West). The 24-year-old biker, who suffered injuries, has been admitted to a hospital and will be arrested after discharge.
According to the police, the incident took place near Saraswati hospital, in front of Charkop bus depot around 2.30pm.
The victim, Nita Patil, 65, a resident of Charkop, was walking when the accused lost control and the speeding Honda Shine bike rammed into her. She suffered injuries on her hand, head, and back. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Following a complaint filed by Patil’s daughter, Swati, a first information report (FIR) was lodged under section 279 and 304 A of the IPC, and 184 of the MV Act.
Pramod Dhaware, senior police inspector, Charkop police station said,”The accused is a local resident. He was driving rashly. We are trying to find witnesses. We will arrest him after he is discharged by the hospital.”
