The trio entered the shop, posing as customers who wanted to buy a gold chain.
The MIDC police have booked three men who allegedly robbed a jewellery shop in Andheri (East) of gold and cash worth ₹9 lakh.

According to the police, the incident took place at Mahavir Jewellers in Subhash Nagar around 10.30pm, when the owner of the shop, Devidas Lohar, had gone out for work. His nephew, Kamlesh Lohar, 24, was manning the counter during the time of the incident.
The trio entered the shop, posing as customers who wanted to buy a gold chain. Kamlesh, who has been working there for six months, was the only employee in the shop at the time. The accused then sprayed an unidentified chemical into Kamlesh’s eyes, which caused him to lose consciousness.
When he regained consciousness, he noticed that the trio had looted the shop. The accused had fled with about 300 grams of gold and ₹45,000 in cash.
Kamlesh called the police and a van was dispatched to the spot. A first information report has been registered under section 294 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of the IPC.
