Being presented by the Lorraine Music Academy, this day-long celebration tomorrow is set to be a treat for the audience. “We bring good music and art to the community, not just for entertainment, but for true education and appreciation. Teaching children and adults how to understand and appreciate music and play an instrument is both, our passion and mission,” says Aubrey Aloysius, the founder of the academy.
The concert, which also aims at raising awareness and gathering resources to set up a World Cultural Centre in Gurgaon, to promote arts, will be packed with three different sets of performances. For the first, Lorraine Fiona Aloysius, the co-founder, will be playing the piano.
The second event will see a performance by Nrityarpan, a group of seven performers from Bareilly, trained by late father Thomas D’Sa. They will present Indian folk dances followed by the final performance by the academy’s choir and rock band. Fans are upbeat about the concert. “This annual event always has something to look forward to,” says 19-year-old-Juhi Narang.
Complete with chorus singing, professional musicians and artists, the event will be accompanied by various instruments, including piano, electronic guitars, drums and tambourine. “We are hoping that this fest will inspire people to appreciate, enjoy and learn music at a new level. We believe that the right kind of music makes the right kind of person. Music is food for the soul,” adds Aubrey.
