Indian fans have tons of energy: DJ Tiesto
Dutch musician and DJ Tiesto a.k.a Tijs Michiel Verwest, who will be playing in the Capital for the first time on March 31, says he loves coming to India to perform. He performed in Hyderabad in 2008.
Dutch musician and DJ Tiesto a.k.a Tijs Michiel Verwest, who will be playing in the Capital for the first time on March 31, says he loves coming to India to perform. He performed in Hyderabad in 2008. “India is great! Each country is unique but India has great fans with tons of energy. This is my second time in India and I really like this country. It has a very distinctive culture and I am really looking forward to be here,” says Tiesto who will be performing in Bengaluru , Mumbai and Delhi as a part of his 3-city tour in India.

The Dutchman, who is known for hits like Insomnia, Sensation White, Feel and many more, will be performing for the first time in the three cities. Tiesto, which is the Dutchman’s childhood nick-name also praises India’s rapid growth in the world of Electronic Dance Music (EDM). “I think EDM has gone to a whole new level in India with fans here being exposed to the finest EDM artists from across the globe, and it’s great news not just for fans here but the global EDM scene,” says Tiesto, who has been in the electronic music industry for almost 20 years. And the ace music maker says that electronic music is the future of world music. “I think the genre will become more important in the music space. There is so much flexibility with making electronic music, I can collaborate with so many artists from so many different genres,” he says.
When quizzed on wether he would like to collaborate with Indian musicians, Tiesto hints at a possibility and says, “You never know, something may work out during this tour.”
