A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men on Saturday night in Salempur, Greater Noida, police said. A case has been registered at the Kasna police station in the matter.

The woman has been living with her husband in Greater Noida for the last three years. The victim, who works as a domestic help, is married to a factory worker who hails from Aligarh.
According to the first information report filed on Monday, the incident took place on the night of February 10 (Saturday).
As per the complaint, the woman had started working as a domestic help with a family living in the Swarn Nagri area of Greater Noida three days ago. “The same evening, her woman employer sent her with a man around 8pm to buy vegetables from the neighbouring market. The man took her to Salempur where two more men were there. The three men allegedly raped the woman around 11pm,” Brijesh Kumar Verma, station house officer, Kasna police station, said.
According to the police, the woman said she was taken from Swarn Nagri to Salempur on a motorcycle, which got punctured on the way. She was then taken in a Scorpio SUV from there to the open fields in Salempur. According to the complaint filed with the police, the men abandoned her there and she returned home in an auto-rickshaw. The distance between Swarn Nagri and Salempur is at least 20km.
“The woman was finding it difficult to identify the place of the incident. We are investigating the case. We are trying to obtain CCTV footage of the route the woman mentioned in her complaint and are also trying to trace the movement of her mobilephone she was carrying with her,” Verma said.
No arrest has been made so far.
However, the police have registered a case under Section 376 D of the Indian Penal Code (rape by one or more persons constituting a group or acting in furtherance of a common intention) against three men. The Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC has been slapped on the woman employer who, according to the victim, was a party to the entire episode as she had sent her with the man accused of raping her.
