Six-year-old girl missing from Noida found in Delhi after 20 days

Noida police recovered a six-year-old girl, 20 days after she went missing from outside her home in Sadarpur village in Noida’s Sector 45.

Noida police recovered a six-year-old girl, 20 days after she went missing from outside her home in Sadarpur village in Noida’s Sector 45. Sakshi’s father, Jung Bahadur, said that she was playing outside her residence on September 18 and when she did not return till late in the evening, he approached the Sector 39 police station and filed a missing persons complaint.

“Following the complaint, multiple teams from the local police station and the anti-human trafficking unit of the city crime branch were formed. The case was investigated considering each aspect and locals were questioned about movement of any suspicious persons in the locality. Her photographs were uploaded on the online network for missing children,” said Dinesh Yadav, superintendent of police, Noida.

Police said they sent teams to Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Meerut, Baghpat, Baraut, Muzaffarnagar and many other cities of Uttar Pradesh.

On October 10, a police team found a girl with matching features at a shelter home in Kalkaji.

“A police team reached the shelter home along with her parents who identified the girl. The shelter home employees told us that the girl was spotted roaming around in Kalkaji area and some local informed the shelter home about her,” said Yadav.

Police said the victim lost her way back to home while playing in her locality and somehow reached Kalkaji, hopping into buses.

“The counsellors of child welfare committee spoke to the girl and concluded that no attempt was made to kidnap her,” said Yadav.
