Sanjay Dutt tied the knot with Maanayata Dutt in 2008. Later in 2010 they became parents to twins Shahraan and Iqra. Sanjay was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and Maanayata supported him throughout his cancer treatment. He is currently cancer-free.

Sanjay is also parents to his eldest daughter, Trishala Dutt with his first wife, Richa Sharma. In 1996, Richa died of a brain tumour. Trishala who shares a close bond with Sanjay and Maanayata, lives in the US, where she was raised by her maternal grandparents. The father-daughter duo occasionally take trips together, including Trishala's 33rd birthday celebration.
