1. Floral arrangements - To achieve the perfect festive look for your home always go for flowers. Flowers give a lot of options to play around with but keep the core design theme grounded in traditionalism. Floral décor also creates a certain mood and a perfect setting for spending good times with family and friends and making memories. While Marigold remains the main choice, you can pair it up with lilies and roses to add some flavour. Rangoli’s can be another option, where you can use flowers instead of colours but if you want a neat and fuss-free décor, then you can also skip this. The best part is, that you will still have a variety of options. (Unsplash/Suchandra Roy Chowdhury) expand-icon View Photos in a new improved layout

2. Accentuate colours with lights - Festive decoration and lights are synonymous, not just in India but all around the world.  The floral arrangements can be further accentuated by the placement of diyas. While led strips and artificial diyas will also do, a natural earthen lamp makes a great pair with flowers. The use of diyas and candles accompanied with flower highlights in certain areas within the house adds warmth to the entire atmosphere. Besides, diyas can be placed in certain corners to create a subtle glow. (Photo: Raajessh Kashyap/HT) expand-icon View Photos in a new improved layout
