Mumbai rains: Rescue operations underway after wall collapses on shanties in Chembur, Vikhroli areas

At least 22 people have died and several injured in Mumbai and one of its suburbs, following heavy rains that lashed the city and its surrounding areas on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Prime minister Narendra Modi announced ex-gratia of <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>200,000 each for the families of those who were killed and <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>50,000 for those injured.
