On Monday, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General, World Health Organisation (WHO) said that Omicron is transmitting faster than the Delta variant. People who have been treated for covid-19 earlier or are fully-vaccinated, are also getting infected with this variant.(Reuters)

WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan stated that Omicron is affecting the immunity of the body. She further added that countries that have started giving the booster shots should give preference to the ones with lesser immunity.(REUTERS)
