Compassion fatigue refers to the psychological, physical, mental and emotional impact of helping others to the point that we stop prioritising ourselves at all. "After recognizing the signs of compassion fatigue, we might consider how to manage this experience so that we don’t burn out completely. Coping with compassion fatigue means that you begin to create separation between you and your role, in order to protect yourself from the constant absorption of other people's stress and pain," wrote Therapist Andrea Evgeniou.
