Cherophobia is a condition where people face aversion to happiness. The word chero comes from the Greek work – Chairo – which means I rejoice. Cherophobia regfers to the fear of rejoicing and being happy. "Cherophobia is the irrational aversion to being happy. It can often develop in response to anxious thoughts tied to past trauma or learning in childhood that there is an association between happiness and something bad happening. As a result, someone with Cherophobia may believe that when something good happens, it will be followed by something bad," wrote Therapist Carolyn Rubenstein.
