- Diwali, one of the most popular festivals in India, is celebrated by lighting homes with diyas to commemorate the victory of light over darkness. It is also be referred a 'festival of lights', during which Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped in some parts of the country. With restrictions imposed on bursting of firecrackers, diyas remain the most eco-friendly option for celebrations. Take a look at some of them being prepared in Uttar Pradesh for upcoming 'Deepostav'.
