A fire broke out in a Chilean seaside resort town named ‘Vina del Mar’ on Thursday killing at least two people and destroying or damaging nearly 400 homes. The unprecedented situation has prompted the government to declare a state of emergency as the officials continue to douse the huge fire. As per the news agency AFP, nearly 400 firefighters and 150 forest rangers engaged in dousing the fire which the officials said is likely to be controlled by Friday evening. The fire was caused due to forest fires, the flames of which were fanned by strong gusts of wind that spread from the upper areas of town and hills to the lowest, most inhabited sections of the city in a span of few hours.
