Preparations for the much-awaited deepotsav celebration in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya are in full swing ahead of Diwali. While laser show and colourful lights set the spirit of the three-day celebration, the final ‘deepotsav’ of lighting 17 lakh diyas (earthen lamps) at the Ram Ki Paidi ghat on Sunday will be the the grand moment. The celebration, organised by UP's department of tourism and culture, will witness the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the chief guest on Sunday. The grand deepotsav lighting - being held since 2017 - will also make an attempt to set a Guinness World record.
