- Maharashtra on March 3, reported 9,855 Covid-19 infections, its highest single-day spike since October 17 when the state reported 10,259 cases. The state tested 87,627 samples, and had a positivity rate of 11.25%, while the state’s overall positivity rate stood at 13.2% on March 3. Vaccination centres saw a rush of beneficiaries on March 3—Day 3 of the second phase of the countrywide inoculation drive. Maharashtra’s current Covid-19 tally stands at 82,343 active cases and 52,280 deaths.
