PMRDA plans Ring Road development, six TP schemes in Hadapsar area in Pune

The PMRDA on Saturday called a meeting with farmers and land owners at Handewadi to brief them about the Town Planning scheme and its benefits. Farmers from Nimbalkarwadi, Yewalewadi, Pisoli, Vadachiwadi, Handewadi-Autadwadi and Holkarwadi were invited for this meeting.

After kick-starting the Town Planning (TP) scheme at Mahalunge, the Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority(PMRDA) has taken up the planning of six new town planning schemes in the Hadapsar assembly constituency to execute the Ring Road project.

The PMRDA on Saturday called a meeting with farmers and land owners at Handewadi to brief them about the Town Planning scheme and its benefits. Farmers from Nimbalkarwadi, Yewalewadi, Pisoli, Vadachiwadi, Handewadi-Autadwadi and Holkarwadi were invited for this meeting.

Guardian minister Girish Bapat was present for the meeting and appealed to the farmers to take part in the Town Planning scheme calling it a win-win situation for all. He also assured the land owners that the scheme won’t be executed without getting the nod from land owners.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, PMRDA’s chief executive officer, Kiran Gitte, said, “Farmers have shown keen interest in the town planning scheme. Six town planning schemes have been proposed at Nimbalkarwadi, Yewalewadi, Pisoli, Vadachiwadi, Handewadi-Autadwadi and Holkarwadi.”

Each town planning scheme would be in between 200 to 300 hectare area. Fifty per cent of the land along the Ring Road would be acquired for ring road and the ownership of the remaining 50 percentage land would be with original owners. The PMRDA will change the reservations on this land and the land owners will get the same Floor Space Index on the remaining land, he said.

Gitte said that if the town planning scheme is executed, the Ring Road project would be self-sustaining and additional funds won’t be required for land acquisition through the town planning scheme.The PMRDA would also get 10 to 15 percentage land which will help create the additional facilities in those areas, he said.

These schemes have been proposed 500 metres away from the proposed ring road.

“The PMRDA will provide water, drainage, electricity, gardens, schools, hospitals, bus stands, parking spaces and open spaces in these areas. Even the land owners would get the land near the Ring Road which will help raise the value of their land. Each plot will have road connectivity,” he said.

Gitte said that many farmers have shown eagerness in the scheme and have assured to participate in it. The PMRDA would prepare the maps for it and very soon erect the PMRDA office in those areas. The PMRDA officers would brief the farmers about the proposed TP schemes when the plans get finalised.

Recently, the PMRDA has started the TP scheme at Mahalunge where it got good response. It is helping create a positive atmosphere in the surrounding areas and land owners are approaching PMRDA to bring TP scheme to their areas.
