Following the nod from the CM, the state government issued the notice to hold the cabinet meet on September 3 at 5pm at the Punjab Bhawan and the file pertaining to the agenda of the meeting was sent to the concerned authorities for necessary approval, government sources said.
The decision to hold two cabinet meetings (August 28 and September 3) within a week is significant as the much-awaited additional resource mobilisation exercise of the Badal government is complete and there may not be any item on the agenda pertaining to levying of taxes in the next meeting.
It is learnt that certain items deferred in August 28 meeting will be taken up, apart from issues concerning agriculture department and housing board.
