Renu said Manoj abducted Karan (8) and Priya (2) from her tea stall on the Tajpur road. She alleged that her husband had also kidnapped their four-year-old son Tarzan in August last year and sold him off in Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh), following which she had complained to the police.

During an interrogation, Manoj had confessed to the crime, but the police let him off without registering a case.

Renu claimed that her husband had kidnapped a four-month-old girl from the Tajpur road in 2007. He was arrested, but later got bail.

Hailing from Bahraich (UP), Renu suffered a backbone fracture in an accident three years ago. Due to her poor financial condition, she was unable to receive treatment and has become nearly invalid.

"As my husband refused to take care of me and children, I set up a roadside tea stall. He used to come to our rented room in Jagdishpura area and snatch all my earnings," Renu said.

"He also thrashed me in public and tried to set afire the benches I had bought for customers at the tea stall. Now, only one of my four children, Arjun, has been left with me. I am afraid that Manoj would kidnap him too," she added.

Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Harsh Bansal said he would take appropriate action after investigating the matter.
