"I am still working on the ideology of change in politics, but the People's Party of Punjab (PPP) chief has forgotten promises he had made at the time of formation of the party," Mann told mediapersons here on Tuesday.
Targeting Manpreet for forming an alliance with the Congress, Bhagwant Mann said, "To become an MP, he (Manpreet) sacrificed the party and its workers. I don't understand what he will do alone even if he wins."
Talking to HT, Bhagwant Mann said during the formation of the PPP, Manpreet had said the party would work against corruption and old political system. "As Manpreet has joined hand with the Congress now I doubt that if he will raise voice against corruption as the Congress has a deep association with corruption."
Replying to a question, Mann said, "The AAP has opened the doors of Parliament for the common man. Now any aam aadmi can contest and win the elections, which was earlier considered a prerogative of the rich and powerful politicians only."
Bhagwant Mann said every person, who is worried about the future of the country has decided to extend support to the AAP candidates. About his nomination from Sangrur, Mann said, "Though I am contesting against two sitting MPs I am quite confident of winning this fight against corruption and unemployment."
He said he had issued strict instructions to all AAP volunteers to follow the model code of conduct and avoid personal attacks during their election speeches.
About his surprise candidature from the AAP, Mann said, "I belong to Sangrur and I have come not only to contest polls but to remain here forever."
