Man held for murder of wife, kid

In an appalling incident, a 35-year-old migrant of Prem Nagar has allegedly murdered his 10-year-old daughter and later his wife. The accused identified as Mohan Choudhary allegedly committed the crime as he suspected that his wife had an illicit relationship.

Choudhary reportedly tried to coax his daughter to divulge the name of the person who visited the house in his absence, but when she showed ignorance on the issue, he got infuriated and allegedly strangled his daughter to death. After murdering his daughter, he allegedly killed his wife too.

Till date, the police was not aware about the fact that Choudhary had killed his wife too as they had recovered the body of the girl - Anshu.

Later, during the investigations, the accused revealed that he had killed his wife too and had dumped the body in a vacant plot near Eastman Chowk. Following his confession, the police recovered the body that had turned into a skeleton in the presence of executive magistrate Surinder Garg on Tuesday. The police have videotaped the incident.

The accused admitted that after killing his daughter and his wife, he took the bodies on his bicycle and dumped them in different places and fled the spot. The police arrested him from Madhubani village of Balia district of Uttar Pradesh following a tip-off.

He was produced in the court, which sent him to police remand till July 13.

Choudhary belongs to Madhubani village of Baliya district of Uttar Pradesh. The police had arrested the accused for allegedly killing his daughter, but they were not aware about the fact that the accused had killed his wife Seema, 35, too.

The police had recovered a decomposed body of a 10-year-old girl from a vacant plot of Keshav Nagar of Daba on May 21. The body was covered in a bed sheet. The Daba police had registered a case of murder and initiated a probe.

Later, the police received a tip-off that three of a family of Prem Nagar had been missing under mysterious circumstances for the past two months.

A person informed the police that Choudhary was seen last on May 16 while he carrying a bag on his cycle.

The police traced Choudhary and arrested him from his village with help of the Uttar Pradesh police.

According to inspector Jatinder Jeet Singh, station head officer of the Daba police station, claimed that the accused used to work in a factory as labour.
