Murder in Manila: Family worried for missing kin, want Sushma Swaraj to take up matter

The family members have demanded from the foreign minister Sushma Swaraj to take up the matter with Philippines authorities immediately as they claimed that there is no information about Talwinder and suspected his kidnapping.  

Since the young financer from Fateh Nagar in the city was found murdered in Manila and his uncle Talwinder Pal Sogi of Balachaur, who had gone to deliver the ransom, was missing since February 13; the family members are worried and relying on the Indian government about the kin’ s safety.

The family members have demanded from the foreign minister Sushma Swaraj to take up the matter with Philippines authorities immediately as they claimed that there is no information about Talwinder and suspected his kidnapping.  A pal of gloom descended on the locality when the news of Lalit’s murder and uncle’s missing spread.

Lalit’s uncles Naresh Kumar and Ashwani Kumar said that their cousin Talwinder was also working as a financer there and since he had gone missing, the contact number of his son was also out of reach. They said, Lalit’ s body has been handed over to the family by local police and will be cremated there. They also demanded a fair probe in Lalit’ s murder case. 

Lalit Kumar Tinki, 32 was working in money lending business for the last 13- years along with his brother Amit Kumar and was reportedly kidnapped on September 3 and family received a call from alleged kidnappers who sought Rs 2 crore for ransom. Somehow, the deal settled for Rs 7 lakh after many days of persuasion. Then, Lalit’ s uncle reportedly went to pay the money at the designated place on September 12. Family members got shocked to learn from kidnappers that no one had come with money, After which Amit informed the local police and reached the place where he was called at found Lalit’ s body.Lalit is survived by a wife and two daughters. 

It is reportedly fourth murder of Doaba resident in Manila and all of them were working in money lending business. On August 16, Joginder Singh alias Billu, 45, from Nakodar was shot dead by unidentified persons when he was going for job on his bike. 

A Phagwara resident Sukhwinder Singh was also shot dead by unknown assailants on August 23. On February 14, Bhagwant Raj Bansal,60, of local Green Park Locality, who was working as a financier in Manila, was also murdered.
